Available for the home, or for professional commercial use. Our tiled steam rooms can be designed to multiple configurations, in most sizes one tier or two tier curved bench layout. Site specific drawings will be prepared to clients requirements. Once the design has been finalised then the steam room can be made in solid form, from structural insulated solid foam with reinforced resin render finish and prepared for a tile finish.
The steam room structure will then be transferred to the prepared area at the client's venue and reassembled into a permanent structure. The room will then be fully sealed and prepared for tiling, then finished with the clients choice of tiles.
Materials
The construction panel and support element is made from polystyrene hard-foam with a mortar coating reinforced on both sides with glass-fibre mesh each side or even thickness. Walls and ceiling are nominally 60mm in thickness. This extremely versatile material can be used for wall cladding, wet area floor preparation and seating and steps. Internal finish
All internal surface of the steam room will be hand finished with ceramic or porcelain tiles. There is a variety of tiles to choose from. We offer advice and can source the tiles that meet your particular vision or specification. The majority of tiled steam rooms are finished in ceramic mosaic, however larger tiles with a mixture of mosaic will work just as well. You come up with your ideas and we will make them reality.
Flooring
The tiled steam room must be installed onto a specially prepared floor. The seating area and wall area is prepared level, and the internal walking area finished with a fall to a central drain to take condensate steam away from the room. Ceramic non-slip tiles will be necessary in this area. The area must be fully waterproof prior to the steam room installation. Full tile floor layout drawings will be provided.
Ventilation
Via a 110mm plastic duct to atmosphere. Ventilation is important, steam room which are in continuous use for more than two hours at a time ventilated with 10 - 20 cubic meters per person per hour.
Ceiling
The ceiling is formed from structural foam and render, ether domed or barrel shape. The interior ceiling will be finished with ceramic mosaic tiles to suit. This allows the condensation that will form on the ceiling to run away and not drip onto bathers seated below. We fit LED down lighters as standard usually white light or blue. Optional Fibre optic lighting systems can be fitted, colour change or star light installations can enhance the steam room if installed tastefully.
Seating
Seating can be deigned to meet the needs of a particular situation. Single or two tiers benching or longer with rounded curves for comfort. All seats are fitted to be self draining, and easy cleaning.
Door and frame
Toughened glass safety door 8mm complete with anodised aluminium frame. We fit a standard door and frame at 750mm or the more popular 1000mm door and frame for disabled - entry.
Steam Generator
Sauna-tech recommends the Vapac steam Generator for all commercial installations. A Vapac steam Generator is designed specifically for steam rooms.
